plastic ≠ fantastic
Introduction
More than 8 million tonnes of plastic are dumped into the ocean every year.
1.3 million plastic bags are used globally every single minute.
The US alone uses more than 500 million straws every single day.
And by 2050 there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish.
For all this, we are responsible.

Idea
By 2050 there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish.
For this, we are responsible.
You, me, all of us.
With this project I want to raise awareness by letting
people design their own T-shirt
with their own plastic trash applied to it.
This t-shirt reminds people continuously about
the plastic footprint they leave behind.
Because plastic is just anything but fantastic.
Process
By collecting plastic waste around the house and asking friends for their trash the pile became bigger and bigger. First I only used the sowing machine to stitch the plastic on the t-shirts. At this moment the t-shirts were not washable, so I started using velcro to attach the plastics to the t-shirt. This way the plastic pieces could always be taken off before washing.
